Get them fitted now before looney Liz gets her hands on the country.
Had ours fitted 2 months ago, very happy with the results so far
Home solar is pointless and a distraction that allows the government to get away with not investing in renewables
Had them for about 2 years now with a wind turbine.
If the predicted rise happens in October they will be paid off in the savings by august.
Well that’s the house owning middle class saved…
Unless you live in a listed building in which case you’re stuffed – can’t get solar panels, can’t insulate properly, can only pay through the nose for energy.
A lot of people in conservation areas can’t get solar panels either – and 5% of all houses in the UK are in a conservation area!
We had a 4.6 kW system fitted with a 6.4 kWh battery at the end of June. Super happy with the results, 100% covered my electricity this summer so far, and over the winter I’ll be able to charge the battery at night with cheaper electricity for use during the day.
One interesting aspect will be its impact on home prices. At the moment every estate agent will tell you that solar panels don’t increase a house’s value. My suspicion is that this might change with the rising energy prices plus the general unavailability of solar stock. But we shall see.
Why can’t every new house built have solar panels fitted to the roof by law, its crazy they don’t make more use of all that potential.
How to fix your energy bills …. own your own home and have a spare £10k lying around, oh good, glad we have an easy fix for everyone, especially the worst of people in the country …. oh wait!
The block of flats I live in has them all over the roof. Of course the tenants see none of the benefit.
With energy prices going up, solar panel repayment times are dropping to record lows.
By 2025 it will take a week for them to pay for themselves.

Anyone buying solar panels right now is an idiot.
