Robert Troy asked housing minister to support landlords seeking to evict tenants during pandemic

  1. Getting dangerous for Troy now. Doesn’t really matter about the substance of the allegations anymore, he’s becoming a branding problem for the government. They can’t expect to be taken seriously on housing while standing by a minister who now has a public perception of being a dodgy landlord dealing in cash and contracts with the local authority where he used to work, hiding his business dealings while arguing in the Dáil for more money for landlords and to evict tenants.

The time for Troy to put this to bed was day 1 but he’s failed to be able to put it to bed. It’s now going to drag on at least until this weekend, probably in to next week, and then be rekindled afresh when the Dáil comes back.

The sin now isn’t necessarily even what he’s done – from the perspective of government lots of them have failed to properly fill out ethics declarations – but the fact that it’s completely preventing government from getting it’s message out on anything. Any minister or TD who pops their head up gets asked about him and the coverage gets dominated by that rather than what they wanted to talk about.

  2. Mehole supporting him as his leader and Leo supporting him as he is a fan of breaking rules and also owes F.F. for supporting him over leo leak scandal

  3. Troy coming across like a right scumbag.

I just dont think the gov will do anything. Becuase you can bet once people start digging, a significant number of TDs will have been up to the same BS.

I can almost guarantee a sneaky bill will get voted on to make this kind of going on perfectly legal. Just like when they past that bill to run private lotteries when FF got caught running one.

  4. A lot of TD’s will not know where to look because they have similar setups or are involved in similar situations.
If no action is taken against this leech you can presume the gentry believe he’s done nothing wrong

  5. Vermin. I hope you all will remember who propped up this prick and who defended him when the next General Election rolls around.

  6. I hope this dick loses his seat in the next election. Its about time the people stood up to these clowns.

  7. Paul Murphy made a point about TDs being landlords in a recent enough vote in Dail and I don’t think it got the coverage it should have.
If this is all true about Troy, Paul called it out but no media really latched on.
How can you have such impartial voting?
It is like insider trading. Do we have laws on insider trading? Or even something to cover this?
