I disagree on the irrational part as it appears a pair of russian tourist, that were definitely not GRU with fake passports, blew czech ammo depots. And there’s the irrational invasion thingy at Ukraine which kinda disqualifies Kremlin from settling what is rational and what’s not.

What were the talking points of western redditors against the ban?
* That Russian tourists spend russian money in EU removing it from the russian economy.
* Visa ban helps Putins resophobia agenda.
* Visas cause brain drain in russia.
If any of this were true Putin wouldn’t be so outspoken against it. Truth is the wealthy russians in Moscow are not affected by the war and continue enjoying their everyday life as if nothing’s happening and Putin would like to keep it that way.
If the Kremlin is piping up about this then it should be a priority to implement it asap. Should happen in the UK and US too.
