Werkgevers willen mes in loonindexering

  1. Strange how it’s normal to adjust the price of your product because the price of ingredients went up, but labor cost going up is completely unacceptable and would break the company without any alternative.

  2. Unizo really thinks it’s god’s gift to Belgium. Just don’t give the employees anything — no compromise or alternatives offered.

  3. Euhm… and what about the people that have a pc that only indexes once a year? I’ve been paying high index prices with a low index salary for 8 months now. If they cut index before the end of this year I might actually organise a riot.

  4. “Anders wordt het een bloedbad”…and wtf zo hou think it will be for people to pay their invoice, their food, their heating, etc if they don’t receive an index that doesn’t even completely cover the damn inflation? Bunch of absolute cunts.

  5. who cares what werkgevers want man sick and tired of this shit people are struggling to feed their kids in belgium in anno 2022 fuck werkgevers rn

  6. When you read ideas from employers’ organisations, Unizo is always the one that treat employees as paid slaves and would love to just halt paying them altogether.

Materials get expensive so prices rise-> Ok, everyone gets that.

Things get so expensive people can’t afford it anymore because you stopped indexation -> no profit and confusion as to how this comes, possibly followed by “People don’t want to buy anymore!”

  7. Fuck all of them, in fact indexation should be done every month, or at least retroactively every year also.

  8. With the way people are getting shafted in the next months/year, don’t be surprised they’ll burn your offices to the ground if you keep it up, Unizo.

  9. i’m not gonna lie, i’m a level-headed person, but the situation slowly makes my inner commie boil up.

  10. Man, I just said this in the other post about energy prices. Depressing if the government is going to follow.

  11. Isn’t it quite normal that the wages should be in real terms and not in nominal terms? Even from an economic point. Now they’re basically asking to lower everyone’s wages.

  12. Came here for the one-sided “let’s burn the employers/banks/rich/… that’ll solve inflation” intellectual comments.

    I was not disappointed.

_takes other (small) sip of beer with 10% too expensive price while awaiting downvotes_

  13. The CEO’s & shareholders of TotalFina, BP, Shell, Engie, EDF, ELF, AGIP…and Gazprom etc etc recieve the highest bonus ever this year, becuz of the max Profits they are Running today.

Aramco only made 48Billion$ (48Milljard) Profit this year with oil price @ 120$/barrel.
No chance it Will ever go lower, unless we cut the supply.

  14. I’m a bit confused with the indexation of wages. The inflation is a comparison between one month and the same month a year ago… If the energy prices remain this high it’s normal that the inflation of 9-10% are confirmed each month. It will become crazy if we still see this February next year no? We shouldn’t increase the salaries each month with 10% because the inflation is 10%… Or am I overlooking something here? (Just a question, don’t want to talk in vokas advantage:))

  15. Do these guys wanna create a deflationary spiral or something?

Less wages -> less goods and services being bought -> less income for companies -> more layoffs -> less money to go around -> less goods and services being bought -> etc.

Until eventually it all ends with “And then Brussels had a whole year of riots…”

  16. Als dit gebeurd dan haal ik de strijdvlag en mijn guillotine boven. Welke idioot gaat dit statement droppen in deze tijd?

EDIT: natuurlijk is het fucking Unizo, bende grote bedrijven zuigers

  17. Do these people not realise the social contract that was signed after WWII? The population of Western Europe agreed to pay high taxes and in return they expected a certain life style. Today it seems some segments have forgotten about this. They have forgotten about extreme left and right.

  18. So the energy prices can go up times 12 and everything gets more expensive at the supermarket. The solution is getting rid of the index and factually giving us an 8 percent pay cut? I’m not the socialist type, but fuck me that’s unfair. Certainly considering that most people already got their indexation.

  19. The index is a part of the social contract. I’m very much attuned to the difficulties companies face, but canceling or reducing indexation now is just a stupid idea.

The companies should give the index now as this is already an earned right, the government should check what can be done about lowering energy costs for companies and consumers and the labour organizations should accept the fact that there is not a lot of room for wage increases on top of the index.

This kind of solidarity -where the pain is split three ways- is really the only way we will get out of the crisis.

    Oh well, one can dream.

  20. In hetzelfde artikel:

  21. It’s a difficult situation, I can understand the perspective of the companies, the current high inflation of commodities combined with the coming increase in labour costs combined with the increase in interest rates which increases the cost of borrowing money will causes cash flow problems for many companies which in turn may cause bankruptcy and retrenchment for many people in Belgium. I think it would be better to not do the wage indexation, better to have a job with a 10% reduction in pay than unemployment and high energy prices. Best is probably to build up at least 6 months cash reserve and take put income guarantee insurance to prepare for a recession if you have the ability to do so, other suggestions are welcome . It’s n damn difficult situation for many but before you complian it would best to think of a solution. Many times I want complian but then I stop myself mid sentence and try think of a solution, like try to train the brain to think differently from the default setting of complaining about things.

  22. Inflation is at 10%, profit margins have been soaring.

How any breathing human being could even propose an indexsprong is emotional detachment I cannot even comprehend.

  23. When my wage increase was discussed this year, I was literally told: “Het is misschien iets lager dan je gehoopt had maar als je meer kreeg dan zou de komende indexsprong echt te groot worden.”

If there’s an index jump I will literally call my employer the same day I learn of it to demand anothe raise.
