Hey!
So I saw previous posts about getting a job as a doctor in Norway (for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Norway/comments/js7jhi/getting_a_job_as_a_doctor_in_norway/) but every post I see it seems to be about doing the specialisation in Norway.
My fiancee is a doctor in Portugal, specialised in pneumology for more than a year now and we’re interested in moving to Norway. I’m myself a radiology technologist.
About her situation:
– Since she took the medicine degree in an European country, I believe she only has to apply for the Authorization stated here: https://www.helsedirektoratet.no/english/authorisation-and-license-for-health-personnel. Am I correct?
– How easy/hard it is for a foreign specialist to get a job in Norway?
– What about work conditions for her? What I see on the Internet is quite general. If anyone has a good idea of how it is for her, I would appreciate it!
– Regarding salary, I checked utdanning to have an idea. Is that site trustworthy for that?
Thanks!

https://www.legejobber.no/ this is where you’ll find jobs. You generally need to know a Scandinavian language at B2/C1 level
Write me in PM, can give you some more thorough information
Does she speak fluent Norwegian? It takes several years to get to the level she needs to be to work as a doctor in Norway. Norwegian patients don’t want doctors who they can barely communicate with.
