Archie Battersbee’s mum calls for meeting with health secretary

  1. “Archie’s case has had a lot of publicity, but I know that many similar cases are heard in the Family Division subject to severe reporting restrictions, and therefore away from public scrutiny.

“There should be a comprehensive public inquiry into the operation of this system; and then a change of the law to protect the grieving families from cruelty.”

    Aren’t these 2 statements contradictory?

They are not normally in the public eye to protect families privacy and the doctors during these times, I don’t think we need every healthcare professional worried about public backlash for doing their job

  2. She needs a meeting with a grievance counsellor and a therapist. Has done since they found her son. The press are being irresponsible by giving her a platform.

  3. Wtf would that achieve??? Drs and Courts were in agreement. And the health secretary has what and how many qualifications, that he would know better??? I wish she’d just fade into obscurity.

  4. The family weren’t grieving, they were in denial and were rejecting reality. And the system didn’t inflict “cruelty” on them, whereas they inflicted it on Archie (although thankfully he was unaware of any of it).

I wish she’d scuttle off back into obscurity. My fear is that the Tories are now doing so poorly in the polls that they’ll turn to “culture war” nonsense like this to try and distract the media from the real problems facing this country.

  5. She needs to piss off already, she kept her rotting corpse of a son draining NHS resources for months, all so she could take in donations for herself.
