Since Finlands politicians are in the news recently. Here’s Finnish right wing member of parliament (Sebastian Tynkkynen) in full body blackface (Blackface that he is openly proud of when asked about)

  1. Don’t even have to switch the party to find a person who openly stated that, in his opinion, married woman cannot be raped (in the context of marriages). Oh and I thought he got fired. But then I checked and he merely got suspended. He is rocking up to this day within the party, no problem.

But yeah no a woman partying is certainly something much worse.

  2. Sebastians boyfriens is black. He is not rasist.

And trying out stuff from other peoples culture is not rasist either. Nor is dressing up or make up to look like a different person rasist. Nor is eating sushi or kebab.

It’s rasist to put down other people, not to try to enjoy their culture / trying to learn more about it with little dress-up, with good intensions.

  3. I hate politics. 200 lying & stealing snakes in the eduskunta. It’s nice to know where the taxpayer money goes into.

  4. Some facts here:

    1. You are seeking attention with this provocative post.

    2. You are wrong in what you are implying -> that Sebastian would be a rasist.

    3. You are actually making a point, that blackface is not rasist if it’s not ment to be rasist.

    4. You should seek to make the world a better place not tear it a appart with you actions.

    5. This only makea people angry, deppressed and feeling bad. Why you try to cause that to the world?

  5. I was thinking about blackface today and I feel blackface could have practical uses for maximum sun protection.

I don’t like that it’s a racist symbol, even if it’s only a hypothetically useful thing I don’t want to be locked out of maximum sun protection just because I’m white.

  6. He is just cosplaying some hero, this has nothing to do with blackface. Relax, you reddit dumb fucks.

  7. Weirdest guy ever. Rallies with True Finns which are against blacks, immigrants, gay people, you name it. And at the same time dresses like a gay lumber jack and lives with a black immigrant dude. Makes fun of other people, cries on YouTube videos if someone makes fun of him.

  8. I will never understand what is wrong with the Black face. The new rules are made and they make no sense. This guy is married to gay man as well. I wonder did they make black faces together as a couple.

  9. You are arguing in really bad faith here.

You know a talking point and try to collect points with it. You are no trying to find the truth to the issue.

    The issue is:

    1. Is everyone rasist if they do Cosplay?

Answer is: no they are not.

This Sebstians case is a good proof for it. He made a Cosplay as african and he is not a rasist person. Hence, making a blackface does not mean that you are rasist and a bad person.

If you don’t believe me go read or listen to Sebastians speaks. You will find out, that your assumptions on him were “rasist”.

  10. Being mad about blackface is americanism, that is completely foreign to Finnish culture. Stop pretending that culture of racism is same in Finland and in USA

  11. 1. You strongly believe it’s rasist. And all of your tribe tells you it is. That does not make it true.

    2. Perussuomalaiset is only trying to avoid the “Swedish way”. I think no one can argue thats a good way to habdle things.

    3. Here in Finland, us the white people were slaves. And we the Finns were the colony. You might find it shocking.

  12. My argument:

It’s not racist to be interested in other cultures. It’s not racist to eat their food, listen to their music, learn their language, move to their country, date them, marry them, dress up like they do, Cosplay as a Japanise girl or Sudanise boy.

It’s racist to hate other cultures and people from those cultures.

  13. Hey, can we NOT, start this bullshit of cancel culture here in Finland? Yeah it’s not cool what the guy did but can we not give in this kind of stuff?

  14. Please be educated on what black face is before accusing people of it.

This was not done to exaggerate the features of
Africans in a degrading way. AFAIK

  15. What’s wrong with cosplay/dressing-up?

Instead of asking him of whether that costume is a product of hateful intentions, you just assume it and try to set off a witch hunt to ruin his life.

intentions matter most. and to get to know them (as they are individual!), you gotta reach out and get to know the person behind that. it’s a process.

the short cut to hate speech is of course always open to you but i don’t recommend it to anyone.
