Cost-of-living crisis: Labour say Parliament must be recalled

  1. As much as I agree that there is a cost of living crisis, that is not really an urgent, emergency, or even surprising development. It has been coming for a long time. Something could have been done before the summer break, but it wasn’t. So recalling parliament would not really achieve anything.

And to be honest, nothing short of undoing Brexit will solve this problem, so Labour does not have the solution, either. They can go and stand in the corner of shame.

  2. I try my best to retain faith in our democratic institutions despite…*gestures around wildly* all of this…but TBH, it feels like they may as well stay on holiday.

Even if they did recall parliament, they’d still do fuck all. They don’t care to help, and even if they did, they lack the experience and expertise in the front benches to come up with effective solutions.

We’re a rudderless ship at the mercy of the currents for the time being. Every man for himself.

  3. Pretty sure a full scale invasion of Britain wouldnt prompt a recall at this point. Too busy with a leadership contest
