Unions on brink of ‘synchronised’ strikes, says RMT’s Mick Lynch

  1. The problem with populist governments is they always need a scapegoat to blame for their own shortcomings. It was the EU and immigrants (and of course it still is the EU and immigrants) but now they have some fresh meat to throw to the wolves – the unions.

  2. I wouldn’t have mentioned this myself because I imagine it’ll get added into some sort of emergency anti-union legislation that they are already on about.

  3. Meanwhile Unite the Union for Newham wants us to delay the Strike action to wait for another department to get the Members to ballot, LIKE no we’re striking on the 27th and if and when Cleansing is ready to join us, they can in the next strike.

  4. Doesn’t it feel the unions have a lot of power? Is this why Margaret made them to toothless tigers in the 80s?

  5. They have complete contempt for the electorate in general, or anyone who doesn’t have a say in their selection…ie, most of us.

  6. I still don’t get why General Strikes legal or a thing in this country. The work wonders when governments take the piss.

  7. With people working from home this is probably the most ineffective time in history to have a transport strike.

  8. Can we get on with it instead of going “oh Mr Tory, you’ve been very naughty and we may strike soon”. What’s the point in making a threat and not coming through? You’re essentially giving the Tories more time to prepare for this.
