OVERVIEW: How the Consultative Committee intends to tackle high energy prices

  1. Burger mag verder betalen aan energie bedrijf

Energie bedrijf betaald extra tax aan staat

Staat gebruikt tax om subsidies te geven aan bedrijven in nood

Bedrijven in nood verhogen prijzen aan burger

    Wait, something is wrong…

  3. Measures which won’t help the middle class, who can pay for these measures.

“Renovatiepremies”: sound fun, but not when you’re already living in a new house. Those who do need to renovate still have to spend the biggest part of the money. If you don’t already have that money aside you’re out of luck.
Those who have the money, if you decide to renovate with the help from the government you have to reach a certain EPC level. So it could be that you have to spend more to reach that level than you can afford.

“Rentevrije groene/renovatie leningen”: nice that you can lend without interest, but good luck paying it back in 5 years, even without interest, being crushed by a mortgage plus rising energy bills. The benefit of the investments isn’t instant in your energy bill. Good luck with the waiting times too.

“Verlenging verlaagd BTW tarief”. Whooptiedoop. 1/8 of the price goes to taxes in stead of 1/5. While prices at the moment are x 10.

“Sociaal tarief”: No comment except: paid by the middle class.

“Overwinsten afromen”: good luck finding a legal way to do that. Raad van State incoming.

“Prijsplafond”: even on a European level, no way that will succeed. Europe doesn’t have enough leverage for that. That’s like me going to the bakery saying “No, I’ll pay 1,5 euro for bread in stead of the 2 you ask”. While behind me is my neighbor who says “”I’ll buy 20 at once for 1,60 euro”

So no, the middle class is still screwed and has to drastically change their way of living.
According to some tests my family would fall in the upper half of the middle class and we also have to check numbers each month. You’re just used on spending more each month.

My 16l/100km shooting brake? Maybe time for a smaller hybrid which doesn’t have 320PK and is just as functional (but less fun).
    A/C from 23 degrees to 24,5.
Heating from 23 degrees to 21 degrees.
Washing and dishwasher when overproduction on the solar panels.

“Voetjes op de grond” ? I dont know.

  4. Are they planning on shutting down certain energy heavy industry this winter?

Familys use around 25% of gas. If we half (or even eliminate all) our use is that even going to change anything? Guestimate here, couldn’t find the actual numbers fast enough.

Is europe taking measures that states don’t compete between each other? If france heavily subsidizes and we are not. France will not change consumption, while we are completely in the cold. Plus france makes inflation worse for everybody.

Are they going to push for forced renovation of typ c d e f buildings? Landlords should pay for energy as long as their houses aren’t up to par or something.

Some things the press and politicians need to push for.
