Public outrage has waned. So with a swift wipe of the hands… that’s done and dusted.
Religious orders continue to sit on our school boards, our hospitals and campaign our government. Money talks and it’s our money that the religious orders talk with. Why haven’t they paid what they owe the state?
I wish there was another name for them, we shouldn’t refer to them as homes, detention centres or labour camps but not homes.
This is disgusting. The survivors are being treated worse than convicted criminals for something they had no control over. My Dad is a survivor, the government has let him down his entire life because of this.
It’s outrageous that Roderic O Gorman would conduct himself in such a manner, although we shouldn’t be surprised, he is a politician after all.
This is exactly how the government always treats survivors of abuse in this country.
They commission an “independent” inquiry, making it look like they care. They then disregard the testimonies of the victims. They do their utmost to pay out as little compensation as humanly possible. And they protect the church.
Sending best wishes to all affected by this news today. I’m so sorry that yet again, our country has let you all down. 💚
Does anyone really trust the government? Not to mention these same party’s were in power when the abuse was carried out. They are complicit.
Some … the outrage is faked up. Most of the screechers never even saw the outside of a mothers and babies home, not to mind were enslaved as a laundry worker.
They complain about the absence of things that was never on the table in the name of ‘justice’ like spoiled brats. It’s a social media furore.
The government doesn’t care about it’s people
Our government only cares about the established powers that be in this country. Don’t care who they rape, steal from or cheat or beat, if you’re an established power such as the church, our government will fight tooth and nail for you because all they care about, is establishing their own power. Every church in this country should be covered in red paint tonight. Every single church in our country should be reminded of what they did and that they have yet to do a single fucking thing about it. Every single asset should be forfeited and they should lose their tax exempt status.
The irish revolutionary mindset has been oppressed for years to the point we brush such atrocities under the carpet. We do not stand up for ourselves in our own home, be like the French protest, raise the standard, expect better, oust this evil power grabbing coalition
The Catholic Church has gotten away (so far) with systematic slave labour, illegal child trafficking, as well as countless instances of torture, sexual violence, and other crimes. They’ve taken all the profits of this and used it to buy up some of our best land and have extracted trillions if adjusted for inflation since it’s final conquest of this country around the Cromwell years, keeping us in poverty and ignorance while enriching themselves.
Personally I think we should repossess most church lands and pay the surviving victims out of that, with the rest becoming public land. They shouldn’t own any land but the churchgrounds themselves.
The civil service has a lot to answer for
What reason did they give exactly for having it shelved?
Obviously it’s down to the public outrage moving on, but I can’t imagine them saying that.
And church’s wonder why belief is tanking
What the fuck? What a slap in the face to all those who suffered.

Even today they still hoard their wealth, last week [the Pope instructed the Church to move all funds to Vatican banks](https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/252093/pope-francis-instructs-vatican-entities-to-move-all-funds-to-vatican-bank-by-sept-30) ahead of whatever crisis is coming.

Fuck the Church and fuck the state for failing them yet again.
The Victims of the state are going to be forgotten by the church and state sick bastards.
