Heavily Armed Russian Navy Ships Sailing Between Britain And Ireland

  1. Could our navies (ok just the British Navy) potentially block the Russians? Or do the Russians have right to pass through here?

  2. Don’t worry, the Ustinov is a missile cruiser with missiles for taking out ships and aircraft. As we have neither, we’re safe as houses.

  3. They do this kinda stuff all the time. Either moving naval forces or having fighters or bombers skirting around the edge of Irish/UK airspace. If they aren’t doing anything hostile then not much to do. It’s cold war tactics of moving forces around to test response times, see if you are being shadowed and by what is shadowing you etc. It’s only a story because of the war in Ukraine

  4. Sailing between Britain and Ireland?

Ah, that’s lovely. How often do they sail, and do they serve any food?

  5. Do we still have eejits on this sub trying to say that Ireland is strategically unimportant in a war, has no enemies, and that we should be leaving our military to rot?

This is the second deliberate fucking incursion by the Russian navy this year, telling us that our navy can’t do shit and to let our friends in Europe and NATO know that we are the gaping arse in their defence that refuses to get its shit together militarily.

  6. The equivalent of a boy racer in a souped up Polo driving around your estate loudly.
Russia had a battleship sank by a country without a functioning Navy. I doubt Britain are too concerned.
