Have to commend their optimism for a progressive nationalist party. But think, if anything is achieved, this will rather fracture the political left more than it’ll siphon off from Conservative/Reactionary nationalist parties.
There’s nothing in the article about their party points / what they stand for. Flemish progressive, sure but what exactly does that mean to them? Does anyone know?
Always interesting to see a new party starting up. Myself (and guess many others) don’t really know who to vote for anymore so getting new options is something I only see as being positive. We’ll see once they flesh out their program a bit more besides a few paragraphs if they’re worth a vote.
Progressieve Vlamingen zijn in het algemeen tegen regionalisme, en voor meer eenheid in België. Deze partij mikt op een niet-bestaande groep kiezers.
Ze mogen ook een Brusselse partij oprichten.
Good luck reaching the kiesdrempel.
Hebben we al niet genoeg partijen voor dit klein landje
Can’t find any names on their website. Any idea who is behind this?
Who remembers VlaamsProgressieven?
Yeah, because Spirit did phenomenally.
In other news: person exiting polling station comments that he voted for ‘de goei’.
Their program or “vision” makes them look like all the other parties with general vague statements.
they sound like dreamers with no clue about how hard it is to govern
I’ll keep an eye on them, but so far they haven’t persuaded me. If the other parties fuck it up too much, at least I have an option for a protest vote that doesn’t strengthen populist forces.
Question: I see quite a few comments about how vague their stances are and that they should include more details and an in depth plan. However this genuinely made me wonder about how the average citizen interested in politics could achieve this. For example, one of us has theoretically found the near perfect ideology, mindset and corruption proof morality to start a party but lacks the factual knowledge, how and where would that person/party gather in depth information in order to create a detailed plan without having to be an expert in multiple fields? Are there existing databases or experts most of us don’t know about one could consult or how would the average Joe go from person with a dream to successful compitent politician? Or is it okay to surround yourself with experts while solely being the idealist behind the party?
It’s been a long time since Bert Anciaux changed party.
Wait so the same day two different parties are born that both call themselves vlaams en progressief? Vista en Vlinks?
I am confused.
How exactly will they attempt to prevent NVA and VB from reaching a majority? By splitting the vote on the left even more?
And devide the left vote even more? Good luck with that I guess

Vista? Thx, but I’ll wait for Windows 7
