Somehow this post always appears after the one of Poland asking for WW2 reparations is posted lol.
This compares fees vs subventions only, though. Looking at the economics enabled by the EU, Germany is a much bigger beneficiary than the rest of them.
PiS says fake news
Without the rebate the UK would have been the largest net contributor in some years. Though not many and not across the whole MFF.
Propaganda
All countries benefit EU!
It does not show “EU Contributors and Beneficiaries” it shows “Contributors and Beneficiaries to the EU budget”. Let’s not pretend that companies from for example Germany haven’t benefited immensely from the EU. The reason countries join and stay in the EU is because they think that they benefit from it, countries just benefit in different ways.
Germany bnefits a lot from the eu.. Like they export massively to the member states. So the money that gets payed flows back again
I’ve no issue with Ireland giving out money to the rest of the EU as it benefitted from the EU structural funds when it was a poor nation. We have benefitted from immigration too, lots of areas that had a declining population had new life brought into them by immigration. Polish can be heard spoken almost everywhere here now.
A bit misleading. Countries like Germany have been able to get as rich as they are in large part due to the European Union. Yes, a lot of money is being given to other countries, but a lot of money is flowing back from those countries to the countries through companies etc. The goal is to build all economies to a level where they all contribute.
No wonder the UK left.
Franco-German hegemony, but UK was 2nd largest contributor
Seems like Poland is already getting reparations
Now do *per capita*.
This should be calclated per capita.
Top 5 per capita after rebates:
1. Denmark – 208 euro
2. Germany – 163 euro
3. Austria – 153 euro
4. Sweden – 152 euro
5. Netherlands – 144 euro
Hmm. I just realized that Ireland is on the net contributor side of the budget these days. How things change.
Lil’ surprised about Luxembourg and Belgium though.
What’s going on with Luxembourg? Belgium? Why do they pull out SO much more money (per capita) than, say, Romania?
Now do per capita. Gonna look extremely different.
it makes sense to kick Hungary out of EU for sucking EU funds meanwhile sabotaging EU.
Belgium & Luxemburg host EU institutions and that is not correctly reflected here, giving the impression that they get money to do other things, while they have to spend that budget on the administration.

It’s 2022 right now. I’m pretty sure of it.

A German posting this on september 1st after Poland said it will ask for reparations, i can only imagine why.
That’s [per capita](https://gyazo.com/6e6baf75cb9f23d6b3dc5699a78f2b2c) from 2017.
