I’m sure those landlords will be very correct in using the money to not raise prices for their tenants, and not put it directly in their own pocket.
Landlords already can use the new, interest-free “VerbouwLening” up to 60k, which specifically requires a lowering of the rent price, so why do they need this extra bit?

De beste manier om de huurprijzen, en de huizenprijzen in het algemeen, te drukken of te vermijden dat ze de hoogte inschieten, is om gewoonweg meer te bouwen. Liefst in het lagere en middensegment natuurlijk.

All others need to take the loss. If their renters can’t pay the energy, landlords should pay (part) of the bill. That’s the only way we will see things change for the better.

Ik huur niet voor m’n plezier. Ik zou ook graag kopen, maar zelfs met 2 is het soms onmogelijk als je niet de luxe hebt om van je ouders een berg geld mee te krijgen.

Ze hadden bij de indexering van de huur een indexsprong gedaan of een maximum gezet.
Bij ons is er 86 euro p/m bijgekomen. Wat toch wel een serieuze boterham is.
Het grappige is dat de private verhuurders iets minder de huurindex lijken door te voeren ivg met de professionele verhuurders. Dit is uiteraard geen wetenschappelijk onderbouwde stelling maar uit eigen ervaringen en mensen uit de omgeving.

Well the Flemish government lowered registration rights on the first home and increased it on second homes, basically making it easier to buy a home whilst discouraging the accumulation of a real estate portfolio.
Meanwhile Vooruit sits in a government that still doles out a bonus for people with a second..third… property.
Vooruit should put their money where their mouth is and do something about that. But tweeting is easier than politics apparently.
Consequentie? Dus huren is iets waar je voor gestraft moet worden?
