Something you only ever hear in the news and never in real life: “Work From Home Bad”.
>There’s something about this whole “revolution” that stinks of middle-class privilege.
This article is the first time I’ve heard the “revolution” talk.
That article is absolutely all over the place. Every time he comes close to making a point he gets distracted by a hot take.
This article is so vague it’s kind of stream of consciousness about various feelings of the author. I mean there is no one size fits all solution to work. He is definitely stir crazy he’s captured that well!
So get a job that requires you to go to the office… If you are remote and want to meet your colleagues setup a day where everyone goes into the office if they wish…
Bullshit propaganda.
I’d easily do the next 30 years , I don’t need work for friends or any social aspect. I’ve got that sorted outside of work like any normal non socially challenged person.
As for the “what about the small businesses around the offices?” , fuck them, adapt and deliver to homes or fail.
Sometimes I miss the craic and gossip of the office… sometimes.
Then I remember I’d lose an hour of sleep commuting, have to buy a second car so my wife isn’t stuck at home with no car all day, miss time with my kids because I am in the office, and then have to deal with higher ups walking around eyeballing people.
And I realise a bit of messing around with people in work isn’t worth the headache of doing everything else. I’ll keep working from home so.
Go in the kitchen?
You don’t, but I’m fucking happy to
WFH is the best thing ever, i don’t waste my time commuting , i can have healthier and cheaper food, i don’t need to share toilets and i am saving on fuel and not polluting the environment .

Always the IT, the main commercial property listings publication, with WFH BAD articles. Funny that.
It’s called a hybrid model you imbeciles
This fucking whinger needs to suck it up or look for a different job. The people that dislike working in an office for 8 hours a day don’t get these stupid sob story articles.
I have not read the article but I want to do both. I want to work from home some days and in an office meeting people on others.
I want the choice and freedom to do it and to be treated like an adult who can be be trusted and left to get work done no matter where they are.
I don’t understand why so many places need to create so many obstacles to this simple work life balance solution.

Plenty of people don’t want to spend the next 10 years in their cars to and from work
It’s not **your** bedroom though, it belongs to your landlord
*”I don’t want to spend the next 10 years working from my bedroom, I wish I could rent a space to myself”*
This is why I love hybrid working. I got to the office two days per week and work at home Monday, Thursday and Friday. Meetings get condensed into the office days so they fly by and the other days I get my admin work done. Best of both worlds.
This is totally paid for by employers propaganda though.
Don’t worry, the next crisis will be all the jobs drying up for some reason.
>I’ll often learn more about my job in five minutes with a colleague in an office than during a whole week online
That’s 100% a you problem. Something seriously wrong when you can’t retain anything from a week of work.
