To be fair, isn’t the purpose of a “city poet” to write a poem about the city? This rant about general Flemish education, however well justified, does not fulfill that requirement at all.
Now if she wrote a poem criticising the city’s drug policy or something like that and she was refused for that, then I would agree it’s a sad case of censorship. But for now I would keep the pitchforks in the shed.
At least she wasn’t defending pedophiles.
Geweigerd door een schepen die zelf onder vuur ligt (Sihamegate). Toch tof dat een Schepen niets anders te doen heeft dan dit (er staat kabinet, maar uit eigen ervaring is dit gewoon de Schepen zelf).
As much as I like anti NVA raging, the education system doesn’t seem a topic for a city poem. And not funding it doesn’t mean she’s censored.
Ik ga volledig akkoord met haar boodschap, en met enigzins meer verwijzingen naar de problematieken in specifiek Antwerpse scholen heb ik geen problemen met een stadsgedicht daaromtrent.
Maar man, dat leest niet eens als een gedicht, eerder als een slechte, veel te lange Facebook post.
Wat een ongelooflijk slecht gedicht. Geen wonder dat ze dat niet willen. Boodschap terzijde.
Zou de gemiddelde ASO student het TSO/BSO niet aankunnen? Zijn ze in het ASO zo onhandig?
Never heard of ‘A or B students’, maybe it’s an Antwerps thing?
Ik heb al poëtischere berichten gelezen in het commentaarvak van HLN.
