Had iPhones for a long while but moved to getting Xiaomi phones a few years ago now. No real complaints
My personal phone is a Samsung and my work phone is an iPhone. Prefer the Samsung.
OnePlus 9 pro. My most expensive phone ever and I’ve a mental note not to bother with (close to) flagship again. I’ve had trouble with the camera, and the phone itself just isn’t amazing enough to be so dear. Will be keeping it going as long as possible and then going with budget of the time

Samsung A21S. Does everything I need it to do, and more. And doesn’t cost more than my laptop.
Seriously, fuck phones that cost more than my laptop, but are functionally no more useful than my cheaper phone.
Pixel 6
Sagem MY X-5 2
My last few have been OnePlus one -> Pixel 1 -> Pixel 4 now.
Pixel 4 has a few issues with it now, so waiting to see what Pixel 7 looks like and will probably get either that or Pixel 6A. From what I hear, P5 was the best one of the bunch but I skipped it as I don’t like changing phones too often. Overall I’ve found Pixels quite nice, though I heard 6 has been a rough patch.
One Plus Nord 2 for personal, iPhone for work. On my 4th One Plus
Using a OnePlus 7Pro since release but due to get a phone through work next month. Like the look of the S22 Ultra and the S pen but recently have been interested in content creation (using gimbals etc) and Samsung is lacking in compatibility with 3rd party camera apps.
Oneplus
Pixel 4a. Will probably get the Pixel 6 pro soon because I need a bigger screen. If money wasnt an issue I’d get a Samsung S22 ultra – Pixels have become more buggy than they used to but its the cheapest flagship and they do very good student discounts.
I used to be an advocate for chinese phones like Oppo/Oneplus/Xiamo/Huawei but the cameras aren’t great and it seems like more and more are getting in trouble with European and US regulatory bodies with regards to data privacy.
Nothing phone looks like a really good option atm but I’m weary of it for the above reasons.
I’ve had a couple iPhones years ago and they’re good but I can’t get on board with the lack of third party app support and poor repairability. Having said that, most Android now are glued together which makes it much harder to repair them without breaking something.
Fairphone 3+. I bought it purely for ethical reasons when my old Razer Phone was dieing. I don’t think I would recommend it to the average Joe.
Have a Xaiomi bought it cos it was same specs as a good Samsung and at least 300 cheaper
No issues so far
Oppo Find X3 Lite and Huawei P5 Lite. Had the Huawei first and then got free upgrade. I mainly use them for discord and mobile gaming, sometimes I use the Oppo as a phone lol
Recently upgraded to a Samsung s22 ultra from an s20 plus, like the phone, but it’s a bit buggy, tends to lag every so often when scrolling, not a huge issue but for a flagship expensive phone, you’d expect it to be absolutely perfect
When I saw Nokia were back on the scene I immediately jumped on one, I even went as far as to buy the flagship phone. I was so excited, I had images of me throwing my phone under cars, leaving it in the ocean over night, hammering in nails with it (literally something I could do with one of my old Nokia).
Complete garbage, had to be sent back 3 times to be fixed. Finger print reader is utter pants. The screen takes a minute to come on fully. It’s just infuriating to use.
I don’t think it’s Nokia making them at all. Won’t be buying one again. So disappointing.
Huawei. I have the P30 which still has Google services so it’s ok. May switch this year though
iPhone SE for 6 years, no probs.
iPhone 13. Started with a iPhone 4, then upgraded to a 6S. I’ve gotten about 5 years out of each of the previous models, so I’m going to hold out to iPhone 18.
I agree that paying considerably more for a phone than a laptop is ridiculous. My first laptop had 25GB whereas my phone has 128gb so also ridiculous.
I have an old iPhone 8 that has lasted me nearly 5 years. I’m planning to change it soon, but it’s still doing its job. I use my phone a lot, for work too.
OnePlus Nord2, decent phone tbh
Samsung Fold 4. Cause why not
Xiaomi note 10 sound aul phone
Pixel 5.
iPhone 13 and a Sony 1 IV
Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G, great phone and got it as a free upgrade.
iPhone XR. I was given an ancient 3GS and then an iPhone 5 that was held together by it’s case and still functioned. I know everyone hates Apple but my experience with them has been flawless. Even the ancient, abused hand-me-down phones I was given still worked perfectly.
iPhone 12. Personal experience iPhones have lasted me a lot longer. I have a Samsung S8 for AR development but I’m just so used to iOS it’s easier to stay with iPhone for my personal use. I know I’m paying a premium, but I always get the 1 year old iPhone of the time and get 5 years out of it so I’m happy enough.
Sony experia 5 ii -great battery life and it fits easily in my pocket. had a pixel previous which was good too, and a sony xperia compact which was the perfect size for one handed operation. Gifted it to my mum and its still going strong seven years later
I’m using an iPhone 7plus, I’ve had it 6 years now, battery is struggling a little, maybe have to charge it a few times a day when I’m working, but I’m in no rush to upgrade and if I do I’ll go for an older model of something.
Motorola G50 i think, very nice choice of a phone. No major complaints ever since I bought it last year.
Pixel 6
Fairphone
iPhone 13 pro max, tried the Samsung s22 ultra for a week and hated it, can’t fault the iPhone for my usage so I can’t see myself switching back in the foreseeable
I’m the one person with a Motorola .
Great phones for reasonable money , I don’t know why anyone buys Apple or Samsung they would be pretty low on my list for a new purchase
Motorola (g30) – not the best but pretty damn decent for the price. Some of those iPhones would be more than my car 😂
Got fed up with Samsung charging ports constantly breaking and switched to a Motorola. Much happier and it’s far cheaper too. Never going back.
Was a die hard Pixel fan. Last few offerings were a bit meh so on an iPhone 12 Pro Max.
While I prefer android this just works well – use an ipad, MacBook and watch and it’s been utterly trouble free. CarPlay is more reliable than android auto too, and can be used wirelessly in the car which is great. Resale is top notch too which is nice.
At this stage there’s nothing between iOS and Android, the only thing I really miss is the pixel cameras. Otherwise most of the apps/gestures are so similar that you’d need to think twice what you’re using sometimes.
Using a Pixel 5 and love it! Highly recommend!
Google Pixel.
Sony Xperia L4. Does the job
Motorola Moto G4 Plus. Had it for 5 years now and it was a 150 euro phone when I bought it. Replacement batteries are around 7 euros and I just ordered my third one
