I didn’t create this map for research purposes. It was a non-serious map i made for my own enjoyment at first and then decided to share on reddit. After seeing u/AtrixStd’s map from 3 years ago i thought it would be interesting to see the level which reddit got popular. So the data on population is not precise. I wrote down the first number i saw from wikipedia. Some of them ended up being estimates for 2022 and some countries only had data from censuses conducted back in 2019. So excuse me if i misrepresented your country. Also the reason i only chose subreddits that were pinned to the sidebar is because it provided me with a base to rely the data on. Otherwise I’d have to go through countless subreddits which i don’t know the language to. So before commenting “r/de would’ve made more sense to put in the map” please understand that the only reason i know that r/de is populated with people from many german speaking states rather than just germany is because a comment from the previous post wrote so. In english. So for other subreddit recommendations from other countries i wouldn’t be able to research its legitemacy and purpose. In conclusion I made this map to pass time so chill.

Can someone explain me if there is a reason why specifically places like ireland, island and dutch are at the top?
