This train runs from Neuchatel to Bern and it’s so modern, comfy and never really crowded I love it.
Voralpen Express, very similar to yours but runs from Locarno to Zürich and from Basel to St. Gallen!
Best train moment is when a 1st class carriage is marked as downgraded to 2nd class so you can sit in it and enjoy the seats. Doesn’t happen very often however!
Those new bls trains are pretty nice, the seats are quite soft which I didn’t expect when I first tried it!
The Traverso from SOB. The self-service area is very similar to this one.
2006 Renault Clio
For me nothing can beat the IC2000. Some seat on the second floor are perfect for taking a nap, as the roof is close enough to the head to support it.
They’re quite old, but yet most of them are still in perfect condition. It’s very rare to see something broken here.
Also they have two toilets per car, so the chance of both being occupied is quite low. And they don’t smell awful like the new ones from Bombardier.
I like this one to. And I use it to go to Bern for work. It’s a nice, comfortable train, even I never use the coffee machine or the snacks.
oh wow, this indeed looks like a comfortable train!
None of them. They are overpriced and only barely compete financially with driving. I *hate* the swiss rail system, it’s a failure. Public transit is meant to be a cheaper competitive option to solve the ever increasing traffic and pollution issue. Public transit should be a public service, not a luxury good.
But no, here in Switzerland we treat trains like they are meant to be some amazing cutting edge technology that we should all pay premium price for. But we don’t even have high speed rail! It’s a joke. Trains are meant to be a practical solution to commute, not some flashy instagram-worthy lounge
If driving my car to work is only marginally more expensive but 3x quicker, then guess what I’m gonna do.
I really like the Giruno trains from SBB.
Loved taking the Voralpen-Express when I lived in the “east”.
same. it’s great
The rare ones with working AC in the summer
It’s a good train although the seating is less comfortable than the previous one (Einheitswagen 3).
The pannenzug, I have no choice but to use this one
The one from the SOB <3
And I really like the stuff who is working for SOB. Everytime very friendly and smiling.
‘Muricans be like “wuuuuuut?”
Personally, I’m a big nostalgic fan of the IC2000. I have so many great souvenirs of trips back from skiing or from a festival, sitting in the sofa-lounge on the top level with my friends, drinking beers. Other than that I love taking the ICE4, when it happens to pass through.
This looks very nice, might have to go to Bern soon haha
The new bar wagons between Bern and Zurich! Amazing look and feel 🙂
I really love new waggons of the Südostbahn. Like the voralpen express they’re so comfortable and i like the new vending an coffee machines
SOB Traverso
The train that runs from Basel to Zürich at around 5:30 in the morning. I think its like the most modern SBB train, ultra spacious even in 2nd class and has those foot holder things like the big busses. Don‘t know why I have never encountered it except this time of the day on that route lol
The usual sbb double stacked ones. I like the 2nd floor for some reason.
IR 75
The ones which don’t waste 3 out 5 wagons with first class seats despite first class being empty and second class being so full that you can barely stand anymore.

For restaurants: the solid wooden tables on the restaurant cars are most impressive. Formerly owned and styled for starbucks, now Starbucks have left and are run by SBB again. It is also a pleasure to use DB services here, German prices in Switzerland.
The [IC2000](https://www.sbb.ch/de/bahnhof-services/waehrend-der-reise/unsere-zuege/ic2000.html), but solely out of nostalgia.

They have been retired but I liked the old [FLP trenini](https://media.tio.ch/files/domains/tio.ch/images/4bhk/-per-san-silvestro-anche-il-trenino-flp-fa-le-ore-piccole-4g0e.jpg?v=1).
