  3. Ze weten dat “ik wil vanuit mijne living geen hoogspanningspalen zien staan” geen bijzonder sympathiek argument is, dus komen ze met deze bullshit op de proppen. Schaamteloos.

  6. Totale onzin, kenmerkend voor deze tijd. Zoek eens een causaal verband tussen Alzheimer, depressie, leukemie, hersentumoren, huidkanker, lymfeklierkanker, borstkanker en onvruchtbaarheid. En een causaal verband tussen ‘magnetische velden’ en elk van die vermeende gevolgen. Tegenwoordig denkt elke idioot met een internetverbinding dat hij/zij wetenschapper of dokter is omdat men nog nét intelligent genoeg is om een YouTube-filmpje over hoogspanningskabels op te zetten. De tractor waar die mensen (letterlijk) mee naar het protest karren, heeft daarentegen wel wetenschappelijk bewezen nadelige effecten op de longen. Tijd voor een nieuw protestbord?

  14. Zo, mijn bord opgezet. En nu naar huis. Eerst mijn stoep eens goed met roundup bewerken, dan mijn huis helemaal met Dettol kuisen. Dan een lekkere sigaar en een borrel en wat muziek luisteren met mijn koptelefoon (magneten tegen je oren).
    Ze gaan mij nog helemaal ziek maken met hun stomme kabels!

  15. Het probleem is dat men zegt dat een ondergrondse gelijkstroomleiding “technisch en financieel niet haalbaar” is. Had men het bij “technisch niet haalbaar” gelaten, dan was er geen ruimte voor een alternatief. Nu leest het alsof het een geldkwestie is, maar dat is het absoluut niet. Een gelijkstroomtraject ontsluit het hoogspanningsnet niet, aangezien het niet in staat is de frequentie aan beide zijden van de gelijkstroominstallatie gelijk en constant te houden met de rest van het Europese hoogspanningsnet. Het vormt dus GEEN alternatief.

    Side question, I wonder though if one could harness the electromagnetic fields to ‘steal’ some electricity from the high voltage lines.

  21. Heel triestig en hypocriet dit. Nog wat meer geld wegsmijten voor een studie waarvan we de uitkomst al kennen? Voor ochottekes 20km hoogspanning. En al die hoogspanning die er al staat in België, das geen probleem dan? Ipv. te zeggen “Neen, we willen geen hoogspanningspaal op ons patattenveld (uitzicht / grondwaarde / whatever)” komen ze af met pseudoscience BS. Mensen met teveel tijd en zonder verstand

  22. Als dat waar is heeft iedereen die met een Tesla rijd ook een probleem want er zijn studies die aantonen dat de driver seat ook vol van elektro magnetische stralen barst. Vandaar mijn radioactieve lichtgevende balzak !

    Anyway. I’ll just add two things:

    1. As far as we know there’s no direct causality but we also can’t exclude it 100% so far. And for a person who is not directly involved it’s easy to say “so what is the big deal”. For the person who has seen the map and has the powerline right above their house, that is different. That 1% chance is suddenly a real thing.

    2. Most people here think it’s just about farmers whining about losing ground or “wappies”. But that is not the case, it’s just easier for everyone here to generalize everyone as conspiracy theorists and money-grabbing-wealthy-farmers right?
    There’s a lot of protest just purely about the location of the power lines. For example in the city Izegem because the powerlines have been drawn to go straight through all residential areas and the center of that city. It’s a 30 000 people city, not super big but it’s also not your average little village. They could’ve just moved those power lines 500m up north-east or south and the power lines would only cross farm lands and be near barely 30 houses or so, instead of like hundreds and the city center. I haven’t followed up because I don’t care.   28. Wat een hoop gezever, het is al sinds jaar en dag bekend dat laagfrequente elektromagnetische straling compleet onschadelijk is…
    Het is inderdaad het not in my backyard fenomeen, al kan ik mij moeilijk voorstellen dat mensen die naast de E403 wonen hier nog over zouden beginnen zagen.

    Dat ze eens naar hun fokking stikstofuitstoot kijken, al die varkenskwekers langs de autostrade en in de buurt er van, vuile hypocrieten.

  29. Neen. Hoeveel hoogspanningsleidingen hangen er trouwens al in België? Veel me dunkt, en ik ben niet op de hoogte van een correlatie met kanker.

    Dat ter zijde is het vooral zielig dat deze mensen “meer openheid en onderzoek” eisen maar niet de tijd willen nemen om de basisprincipes van de elektriciteit te leren.

  30. Living in Lichtervelde where I live in the middle of the protest I can only say maybe take the ppl against to see the windmill parks at sea.

    We did take a RIB boat trip to see the windmill park at sea with the office this summer and I can only say it changed my and everyone at the office their point of view. It is impressive the size of what is there in the middle of the sea. I can describe it bit just seeing what is there and what they want to do and just the size and scale it is amazing.

  31. En de stroom wordt nochtans duurzaam opgewekt, iets waartegen toch best veel weerstand ( 🙂 ) bestaat, bijvoorbeeld uit de conservatieve hoek. En dat is iets wat ook best te correleren valt, gezien elk duurzaam project telkenmale tegengewerkt wordt door diezelfde club in dit mooie land.
