I’m into home automation, and am holding out on buying something to monitor my power consumption on my non-digital meter for quite some time because Fluvius was going to install a digital meter before 31/07 (according to their [planning](https://www.fluvius.be/nl/thema/meters-en-meterstanden/digitale-meter/wanneer-krijg-ik-een-digitale-meter/planningschecker)). As expected, I haven’t heard from them at all.

Requesting them for an immediate installation would cost around €90 apparently, which is more than the device I’m looking into (Shelly EM). The new meter would also monitor gas consumption though.

Does anyone have an idea how far behind schedule they are? Or, if you request it, how long it would still take until they show up? Region is Oost-Vlaanderen.

  1. If you build a new house, you’ll get one automatically. The only downside is that you’ll end up paying more than €90 in the process.

  2. Stick in solar panels you’ll automatically get upgraded for both your gas and electricity meter …. Source, happened to us. It was fun watching the old analog meter having a stroke whilst spinning backwards …. For a while 😂

  3. “Jouw meterinstallatie staat op onze radar om tussen 01/07/2021 en 01/04/2023 uit te rusten met digitale meters.”

And I thought Bpost had terrible estimations with their package deliveries between 8am and 6pm. 🙃

  4. Get the Shelly anyways and when they install a digital meter eventually, just repurpose it to monitor another circuit, like your dedicated fuse for the fridge for example.

  5. “Heb je zonnepanelen? Naar aanleiding van het arrest van het Grondwettelijk Hof, plaatsen we op dit moment geen digitale meters bij eigenaars van zonnepanelen, in dienst genomen voor 2021. Het is dan ook niet mogelijk om in de planningschecker te bekijken wanneer je meters vervangen worden.
Bij eigenaars met zonnepanelen, ouder dan 15 jaar of in dienst genomen vanaf 2021, plaatsen we wel digitale meters. ”

I’ll keep on spinning backwards than ey! 2020 solar panels, thank god!

  6. Ha, I got a letter that they were going of come install them in April.

It’s September and they still haven’t installed them. Every time I got a call to postpone it (luckily I work from home so it wasn’t a big deal).

  7. If there is something wrong with your meter they´ll come sooner… so check if you can spot anything ´dangerous´ on the line to your house, or the meter. And inform them of said flaw…
