I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at story’s like this
The prices are just madness, I’ve no idea where these companies expect people to find the money
Get ready for a lot of businesses to be a few degrees colder this winter.
Get ready for a lot of businesses to be closed- it’s a double whammy – they can’t afford the bills and people can’t afford to buy their products. Has anybody who can do anything about this actually thought it through?
I cannot believe how poorly the government has handled this matter- Ofgem published their forecast in March, and none of this is a surprise.

After a global pandemic that everyone feared would end small and medium businesses by the thousands, turns out its just rampant capitalism and contract trading of energy that’s going to destroy whole swaths of UK SME’s
Makes me wonder what will happen to all the old age care homes/nursing homes
Their bills are about to skyrocket with hundreds of elderly people putting the heating on constantly.
Now imagine the energy bills for heavy industry.
As bad as the increased cost to us is, this is so much worse. Mental that nothings being done.
Small business closures mean less competition for big business – I wonder if this is intentional
Just seen a post from a small coffee shop in Westmeath Ireland, posting their electricity bill of €9836 for 2 months.
This is not a UK problem or a Brexit problem, it’s a “being reliant on fuels from countries we shouldn’t do business with” problem
Bet the banks are rubbing their hands at all the property that will invariably come up
Energy companies are grabbing everything they can before the collapse happens.
