I have just simple question: *I have two friends which wants to move to Denmark and wants to work here. What do they need to do to get a job? Work permit? How?*

Before friends moved to DK we had “research time” and checked “[nyidanmark.dk](https://nyidanmark.dk)” or “[borger.dk](https://borger.dk)” and everything was leading to: “EU Citizens can work how much they want without a permit…” but when my friends actually moved (to my apartment) and applied for one of the jobs, job replied that my friends need a work permit… we checked how can we get one – and basically we ended up in loop situation where, for a work permit, you need a job (contract or declaration from employer) and for job you need a work permit?

Is there anyone that moved to DK (not a student) and was going through the same situation or does anyone know how to solve this? Maybe I am just smooth brain and it is simpler than it looks.

Edit: Maybe the problem is with a job? (it is moment DK and they are basically providers of jobs)

  1. As long as they are from the EU, they don’t need to have one.

    Here it is.
    [https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Applying/Residence%20as%20EU%20Swiss%20or%20Nordic%20citizen/EU%20employee](https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Applying/Residence%20as%20EU%20Swiss%20or%20Nordic%20citizen/EU%20employee)

Please be aware that depending on the firms you friends have contacted, not all may not be totally clear on rules. There are strict sanctions if you are getting caught breaking work permit rules so that’s maybe why your friends was told to get a work permit.

But either way, just present an employer with official documentation that they don’t need a work permit and they should be fine.

  2. I think this may be a case og lost in translation.

I recently went through a similar situation for my wife. Where borger service tells me she needs a workpermit despite being a eu citizen.

Upon further questions it became clear that all they spoke about was going to SIRI and get an application underway. After that all was good. And everything went smoothly.

This feels like it could be a similar situation. Good kick
