Very good meme. And lord of the rings, so you can’t go wrong
Absolutely true. The first panel of course.
Great meme!
Ireland doesn’t appear in British history books
It’s funny because it’s all true
Third panel should be empty. Very little done about Anglo Irish history on uk curriculum.
its not a meme its a “meh” me
Good meme. Although the English education system is ignorant to what they have done to the rest of the world especially Ireland. Most English people are ignorant of what there ancestors did over here.
Ireland’s history books are split between pre-Christian mythology and post-Christian propaganda. [If it was down to the church, the average person wouldn’t even be able to read the books](https://i.imgur.com/6TAI36Y.jpeg) since that made them easier to control.
Loved it!
Do zoomers think ‘meme’ just means a picture with text?
In British history the Irish ate all the coal miners food leaving them hungry all the time. The aristocracy tried to help the poors but the Irish were too recalcitrant and hoarding of food
The “rest of the world” image doesn’t match what was in my history textbooks in America – the only mention of Ireland was that there had been potatoes and suddenly there weren’t so tons of Irish people showed up in America, then “Gangs of New York”.
Sam saying “po-ta-toes” might be more accurate 🙃
The British still think that all Irish people eat potatoes around a fire under a thatch-roofed cottage.
But what is it really like?
Weird that in English history, it kind of feels like the Irish were given the same treatment as Native Americans, maybe even less so because the Sioux, Apaches and such get at least a passing mention. From what it sounds like Ireland isn’t even mentioned withing English history books.
Edit: clarified a few things and corrected something twice, about ready to throw my phone at a wall
From my experience with the Irish and the British, this is very true.
The Irish: Sings “Come out ye black and tans” referring to how badass they were during the Irish War of Independence.
Rest of the world: Haha! The Irish are singing cool Irish songs and it’s against the British! So Irish…
The British: Ackchyually *snort* ackchyually there is a certain *snort* organi-zayshun mentioned in the song *snort* and ackchyually this orgini-zayshun named IRA are *snort* car bomber terrorists *snort* and they are ackchyually defffinitely not a certain IRA back from *snort* 1920’s. Ackchyually *snort* ackchyually they are also *snort* not so brave compared to GLORIOUS SUPERIOR BRITISH ARMY GOD SAVE THE QUEEN RULE BRITANNIA *snort* because they’ve fought a *snort* ackchyually a guerrilla warfare…
