Government considering temporary rent cap for social housing tenants

    gonna guess they get two opposing views from tenants and landlords.

    the landlords represent far fewer people, but i am guessing they will have the bigger voice with the government.

  2. that’s nice for social housing tenants, but they are doing nothing for private tenants of course. Naturally this will not be free and it will have to mean cutting back on staff/maintenance etc, or get subbed by tax-payers.

  3. Too cynical? but a way for the government to get some PR by helping a few people at no cost to themselves while putting increasing financial pressure on housing associations who they want to extend ‘right to buy’ to.
