  1. Thats a beautiful shot!

Thought it was a still from a game or something at first.

Great example of how the ordinary can be the most creative.

  2. How does the window cleaner get to the windows? Do the bars open like a gate?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’ve never lived anywhere that had barred windows before.

  3. Should post it on HVAC and ask the guys if they want a maintenance contract on the outdoor ac units. It will probably get a few likes.

  4. Reminds me of the back garden in an Airbnb I rented in London a few years ago the street was such a lovely looking street all the buildings were atleast 3 to 4 floors high and the inside of them had multiple apartments one or maybe two per floor the one I was in had a garden in the back and was very long but so crowded on each side you could walk up the wall and look over into the other gardens without even needing a ladder and everything was cramped together but very surprising after coming off the nice looking street into a lovely ground floor apartment and onto the long but very thing garden where no matter where you were you had 3 or 4 buildings looking down on you and each one had 3 or 4 floors of people looking down on you too

  5. Its a nice shot. It looks almost homely til you notice the bars on the windows and barbed wire on the roof.

  6. Stunning shot. I love seeing these hidden city nooks that you only get to observe from a window in a building. Always reminds me of Paris because I had a similar view there on a school trip in 2004 and people joked about the amazing Paris view but there’s something cool about seeing those secret hidden yards and alleys and I loved that I saw that side of Paris too.

  7. Who’s growing the devils lettuce in the shed and have you got their number asking for a friend?

  8. I love this, well done!
I hardly ever get to travel on trains or buses but when I do I just love to watch out for scenes like this. The intimate little jumbly nooks behind the tidy facades.
The more you look the more you see, and wonder.

    Thanks for sharing this 😊

  9. This is beautiful, OP! The one blue-green window in contrast with the white and warm yellow ones really make it. Amazing how something can look both gritty and cozy at the same time.

  10. First of all, this is cyberpunk gorgeous. Fantastic shot. Can I ask a stupid question? I’m an American, specifically living in Durham, North Carolina. I have bars on my downstairs basement windows just like those in this picture due to the high crime rate, but I’m rather impressed at the fact that the windows high up in this picture have them too, even though I couldn’t imagine anyone finding a way to climb that high. Is there a reason the high windows have bars? Like do people climb in from the roof or something? I’m not judging, I live in a high crime area (200 people have been shot this year in my city alone) I am just morbidly curious about places I’ve never been and wish I could visit. Thanks for the amazing photo.

  11. Why have bars on a third story window ?
to keep people in …. ?

Barbed wire on the roof ? FFS !

  12. This is what I visualise when people talk about “preserving the character of the area” and blocking new builds. I don’t care if this is 200 years old, it’s a hideous pile of old bricks, tear it down, give us modern infrastructure.
