  4. A lot of poll questions in the article, but it looks like there’s still some racial bias in the answers:

    > Asked to voice their position on the statement “What the State of Israel is doing to the Palestinians today is in principle no different than what the Nazis in the Third Reich did to the Jews,” a full 36 percent of respondents said they agreed or strongly agreed, while another 25% said they did not know. Only 40% disagreed or strongly disagreed.

    > In response to another question, **24% of German respondents said Jews have too much influence in the world**, 62% disagreed and the rest did not know.

    > **The study found a correlation between lower education levels and prejudices against Israel and Jews.**

  5. Do the Germans who don’t feel that their country has a special responsibility towards Jews *also* believe that Jews outside of Israel have a special responsibility for Israel?

  6. So about 58% of questioned Germans think Israel is probably doing things their ancestors did to Jews, Poles, Romani and many others?

    Do remind me how many German citizens of those backgrounds were represented in Hitler’s parliament? You know, like Israeli Arabs are. How many of those attended colleges in Germany? You know, like Israeli Arabs are. How many of them kept serving in the Wehrmacht without being kicked out and deprived of their humanity? You know, like Israeli Arabs.

    What system did the Germans use to warn civilians in Poland that their building will be bombed due to soldiers hiding in it? You know, the nifty thing Israelis do when cowardly terrorists hide in civilian buildings, followed by a dud-shot as a final warning.

    The government the Germans elected, and most of all the ones in the eastern part and diaspora supported, used its power to fully deprive multiple groups of people of their humanity, invade countries without mercy of insane plans, plan to wipe gems of civilisation like Paris and Warsaw fully off the face of the Earth, and other horrors which border on the absurd.

    What has Israel done to even remotely compare? Being an Arab who is an Israeli citizens is leagues better than being a citizen of just about every Arab country.

    I won’t say that Germany is forgetting the evil it has done and how merciful the Allies were to it, as there is so much “anti-zionist” (a term anti-semites call themselves, just like say racist called themselves “race-realists”) propaganda polluting the free world which is the main thing to blame.

  7. I am surprised it is this low.. I don’t have anything against jews, but the whole Israel zionism situation is very nazi like.. They believe god gave them the land, so it belongs to them and anyone else is an intruder.. not unlike the expansion of “Lebensraum” rhetoric. They act like they are above the palestinians, like they are “Untermensch”. But on the other hand, they are surrounded with nations who are not friendly towards them, sometimes due to Israels own fault tho. Idk, it’s complicated. Without the help of USA, Israel would probably already fall.

    Can’t comment on the German responsibility towards jews, I would expect reparations already paid for.. but such issues are always hot fuel for populism to take advantage of.

In a shocking turn of events it turns out constant human rights abuses, espionage and assassinations in friendly foreign countries, cozying up to Russia for strategic advantages in attacking other countries, shooting journalists and launcing cruise missiles at the associated press building will turn public opinion against a country, who could’ve guessed.

    If you want to hear it or not. It is the simple truth. Yea, maybe you don’t like muslims because of all stereotypes about terorrist etc. There are 1 bn of them. And sure just a minor portion are bad. Just as in any other religion.
    “We”, the Western world simply will never have credibility in the eyes of the rest of the world if we will turn the blind eye to all of the crimes and unjust thing that are happening over in the Palestine.
