Nick Robinson: Liz Truss cancelled, but public want their leaders interviewed

  1. Just to inform people who may not know, the totally impartial BBC wanted to do an impartial and possibly critical interview with a leadership candidate for the Conservative party by the ex leader of Conservative students at Oxford….Nick Robinson.

    Totally impartial you understand.

  2. Most of us with a brain know she’s not smart. Unfortunately if she wants to be PM, she’s going to have to get better at being scrutinised.

  3. She is trying to avoid any more gaffes before all the votes are in. Truss is on par with Prince Andrew when it comes to scrutiny and someone will have told her to cancel (I don’t think she knows how badly she comes across in public) and she was happy to go along with it because she is easily led.

  4. I don’t like the BBC representing itself as the voice of the “public”. Truss is perfectly sensible not to go on to the BBC if she doesn’t think it will help her win.

Honestly some of these political interviews are so duplicitous. I’d rather have a 5 hour podcast interview than 12 min of gotcha’s.
