Why, just why?!

  1. They’re just blocking the signals that the government is using to track you… ^(/s just in case)

  2. Yes it’s a generalisation but Irish people are fucking animals. “But sure you get that everywhere”. No you don’t, you really fucking don’t. The only thing worse than these scumbags is scumbag apologists.

  3. This is why we can’t have nice things. There will be people out there determined to make life harder for everyone else “just cause”

  4. I’ve lived in several countries. Ireland and UK are the only places where there is such random and unnecessary destruction of public services.

Other countries may have more graffiti, but you see much less of this.

    I really don’t understand it.

  5. Cunts gonna cunt. This is the sort of shit that happens when parents are either told they can’t discipline their kids with the occasional smack or whack of the wooden spoon or parents that are pricks and just don’t give a fuck about what they’re kids are at, they’re just a source of income and feee housing for them. To be clear, I’m not advocating violence on children in the form of beatings or even the belt, but I’m advocating a smack on the back of the hand or into the palm of the hand with a wooden spoon where necessary from about the age or 5 or 6 to keep them in line and teach them there are consequences for being a little shit.

  6. I saw a woman once miss a Luas by seconds waiting for the machine to dispense a ticket. Her reaction was to pour half a cup of coffee into the trough where people grab their change. Some people are just built like this

  7. For what it’s worth, and speaking as a buzz kill, electronic engineer and IT security ‘guy’, it’s really risky to use these. The output from them, an electrical sense, can be really poor and doesn’t exactly do wonders for batteries and sensitive electronics. I’ve seen a number of phones fried from poorly constructed ports that had shorted.

At the more tin foil end of the scale, there are numerous flaws in the USB protocol to allow all sorts of trouble (Look up O.MG Cable).

That’s before we consider the issues of public wifi.

  8. Are these USB ports? Never seen them on a bus here before (from NI) I’d imagine the problem is they’re at eye level. Monkey see monkey do.

  9. I remember back when these were installed first people on Reddit were saying “not long til people start cramming their tickets, gum, snots, etc. into these”.

  10. This happens when people are allowed to amass “hundreds of pervious convictions”.

    There are no consequences.

  11. Jesus, Dublin Bus has upgraded since the last time I took public transport. Pity the scruffs have to ruin things though.
