I realize that the goddamn electricity bill is the only thing on people’s mind these days, or at least the media wants to make sure that it is. But why does NRK, an outlet that has nothing to gain by misrepresenting the truth (clickbait) create CB articles?

The article claims that on one side of the road, the price is 0.40-0.60 kr/kWh, and that the neighbors on the other side is paying “15 times more!!!!”.

FACT:
The government covers 90% of the cost above 0.70 kr/kWh. The journalist obviously knows this, and adds “(before electricity support)” several times, but still writes that people PAY, as in removing money from their bank accounts, 15 times more.

NOBODY (private individuals) are paying 6-7 kr/kWh. VG made a calculator that shows exactly what you’re paying. The difference between 0.50 kr/kWh (avg) and 7 kr/kWh (avg – and not likely) is about 2000kr (2660kr vs 4735kr). Using a more realistic 3 kr/kWh (avg), the difference is 1000kr…

Damn sensationalist.

  1. Of all the things you can complain about when it comes to NRK using clickbait, *this* is what you choose?

They even mention in the article that the number is before strømstøtte.

Non-issue. Everyone understands what the point is.

The Strømstøtte for August ended up somewhere just below Kr2.8 while the price in August peaked at nearly 10 kroner in the Østlandet price area. So, privat individuals are indeed paying 6-7 kr/kWh.

  3. You are wrong. It’s not everying covered over 0,70 kr/øre. The cover is the difference between 0,7 and the average montly area cost. Not every spot price.
