Thank god they didn’t vote for independence or they would be even worse off!
I had a pre-payment meter years ago, it took me a long time to realise how much more expensive it is than a normal meter, and it still makes no sense to me now.
It makes zero sense that it’s more expensive, you’re paying up front, in any other service or product that generally means its cheaper, not more expensive.
And standing charges should be stopped immediately, another complete rip off if your usage is low.
It’s fucking insane that it costs more to pay upfront for your energy than to pay it any other way.
Who else gives you a discount if you pay months down the line?
