Unsure if this is the right sub to post this, but I’m kinda desperate and don’t know where else to go :’)

I’m working on an audio project, and I need to say “Van Geeteruyen”, the last name of a belgian child, but I have no idea how to pronounce it.

Google also didn’t help with it.

  1. Do you know the phonetic alphabet? If not, which languages do you know?

    It is pronounced like this: /vɑn ɣe:təɾœjən/

    English approximation: Van Gay tuh ruh yun

    French approximation: Vane Guétereuilleune

    Modern Dutch spelling: Van Geteruien
