‘A horrible winter lies ahead’: next PM will inherit an NHS on its knees | NHS

  1. Apparently the “soon to be PM, Liz Truss” feels that the biggest problem the NHS faces right now is too much money – fortunately she has a cunning plan to remove £10,000,000,000 of this – problem solved! This is easy! What’s next?

  2. She wrote the book on privatising the nhs. She thinks it has too much money. Her plan is to slash funding to reverse the national insurance rise. Let’s not make an excuse for truss before she starts, it will be an awful winter BECAUSE she is taking over…and the rest of the blame to her several predecessors

  3. ““There are 105,000 vacancies. A&Es are overcrowded. Around one in seven hospital beds are occupied by patients who can’t be discharged. Some patients have had to wait over 40 hours for an ambulance. Care is being put at risk by neglected buildings due to underinvestment. And then there’s the waiting lists, which stretch into the millions across elective care, mental health and community care.”

    All this is by design.

Long waiting lists, in particular, drive people who in distress to take a private option. This has the triple win of sending revenue to private healthcare right now; making those patients resentful that they paid taxes and got no NHS service (so why should anyone else get to use the NHS?) and allows care to degrade until the private option can be pushed by government.

  4. Taxing the rich really is the answer, just as cutting their taxes for the last 40 years is a big part of the problem.

A wealth tax, just on the richest 1%, would easily pay for elderly care.

And an “ageing population” is bullshit too. The UK reacted to a huge upturn in the number of (non working) boomer children by INVESTING in schools, training and university education. We could do the same now for social care…If the 1% started paying their share again.

  5. Get ready to start paying for health care, the govt plan is almost complete, not just tories, labour is in on it to. Time for a new party

  6. Here’s what is going to happen

    Divorces will increase.
    Crime is going to skyrocket
    Prostitution will be more rampant
    Politicians will be more corrupt.
Beggars and Panhandling will be much more
Break and Enters will be more frequent
Mass selling of prized goods just to survive
    Mental health sickness will skyrocket
Thrift and Pawn shops will boom.
    Self Defence equipment will boom
Less and less medical staff = more deaths
    Cost of medicines will skyrocket
Children will be malnourished and hungry more
Diseases will go untreated bc of affordability
Doctors will request extra $ to get front in line
    Knife attacks will be common
Gangs will have access to black market weapons
Gangs will attack the helpless and elderly
Gangs will attack you for your groceries.
Gangs will follow high priced vehicles and do surveillance on your property
    Kidnappings will increase
Vigilantes will form all across landscapes
Self Defence will be encouraged to survive

This is not doom and gloom. It’s what happens when the Health and Safety of any Country when those who are working give up, because the system collapses, it’s what’s coming.
The Health Sector is going to be under immense pressure, Health Professionals are going to crack, which is going to lead to more and more sick being untreated and unnecessary deaths.

Demand for goods and services will increase in price because of the cost to electricity and heat.

Greenery Landscapes and colourful gardens will turn brown.

Dark Times are coming it’s inevitable, Climate Change,Corrupt Governments,War are the perfect storm merging at once.

Don’t be greedy, share your arms and feet to the needy.

A tsunami of grief and misery from North to South, East to West.

Stay healthy, stock up on socks, scarfs and toques, buy Wasp Spray, Steel Wool, Rat and Mice traps, Bleach, Bug Zappers, as much water as you can, candles, solar powered chargers, ones that can power electric blankets, I’m sure you can think of more items, also create you own toilet using a toilet seat and a 5 Gallon bucket with bleach and kitty litter, good luck.

  7. When Labour left government the NHS was in a pretty good state. It was unarguably better than the state it is in now.

The NHS collapsed on the Conservatives’ watch.

  8. So all going according to plan for the Tories then? Next it’ll be bringing in private firms to help with the backlog, then them taking over whole departments then maybe even hospitals too. Honestly get this lot out ASAP.

  9. Inherit? That implies that the next PM wasn’t complicit in creating that mess to start with. I can’t wait to hear how this is all the “previous governments” fault and that it would have been so much worse under labour.

  10. Next PM has been apart of destroying the NHS for a while so pretty sure nothing will actually be done other than more privatization

  11. Neither will care and neither will do anything revolutionary to help fix it. Even if they did promise the billions needed to fix the damage the Tories have wrought, it is far too late to prevent a disaster happening this winter. It is not like they can magic up enough nurses, doctors and social care staff to help out; nor can they magic up more hospitals, GP surgeries or care homes to deal with overcrowding. Even the most pro-NHS PM ever would not be able to stop a disaster happening this year, the mess will take years to fully fix.

  12. One more time for those at the back: THE TORIES ARE MONSTROUS CUNTS WHOSE MODUS OPERANDI IS TO LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS AND THE COIFFEURS OF THEIR ALLIES BY GUTTING PUBLIC SERVICES, AWARDING GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS TO THEIR CRONIES, AND STEERING THE COUNTRY INTO THE GROUND only to TURN AROUND AND BLAME WHICHEVER PARTY SUPERCEDES THEM FOR THE MESS THEY CREATED ONCE THEY ARE NO LONGER IN POWER.

If you vote Tory you’re either a victim of propaganda who is naive about your social strata or you’re an unquestionably immoral money-grasping simpleton.

  13. Quite simply if privatisation of healthcare is pushed we as a collective people need to push back . We simply cannot allow it to happen as it will be the death blow to millions now and in the future.

  14. Why try privitise nhs now especially now the cost of living is going up and people cant afford winter gas/elec nevermind healthcare funds.it makes no sense.

  15. How can the Tories inherit from themselves? They’re merely continuing the damage they’ve already started and have openly promised to continue.

  16. I hope im wrong, but i reckon the tory agenda to destroy the NHS and bring about the American insurance system is about to become reality.

  17. I left the UK in 2020 and I always planned on returning after a few years but all these doom headlines I see about inflation, NHS potentially going private, raising cost of living, nobody being able to buy houses, nobody being able to heat houses next winter and just lots of random things. It makes me wonder if I really want to move back and if im better abroad…
