Much of what she says there is reminiscent of my schooling in the 1970s. Hopefully there will be some way to get decent discipline and focus back into education.
the incredible secret is that they admit virtually zero pupils with less than a Level 4 attainment at KS2. colour me surprised that selecting only highly achieving academic students yields high exam results.
Surely that can’t be an enjoyable school to spend 5 years in?
> revealed kids were punished for not making eye contact, forgetting to bring pencils and pulling funny faces
Not sure which of those is worst but, for a starter, some children will have a condition that makes eye contact, at the very least, much more difficult, if not outright impossible. Punishing them for it doesn’t sound entirely fair.
It would be more impressive if they also took on disadvantaged children and not just the already fortunate.
There is more to school than exam results
So in short be very selective and fuck anyone out if they act out of the “Norm” and all you get is high acheavers and grades. So in short this only works if you get the “right” sort of kid in. So she is the most selective school master then not the strictest.
This woman gets an absurd amount of press
If I had an academically gifted child, you couldn’t persuade me at gunpoint to send them to that school.
