One off cost of living payments won’t keep paying your bills. Sure it might help in October but then the price jumps again in January. One off payments only help in the extremely short term.

The reporting on this needs to stop using the passive voice regarding those with the power.
“Bosses offer a pittance and unions continue strike action as a result” would be a less bootlicking headline.
Greed. Pure greed.
I’d bite the hand off my boss if he offered me an extra grand to my salary, I’d be that eager to accept it. The last thing I’d do is say no to that.
So they have been offered 22k a year for what is essentially an unskilled job? I know this sub is very pro union up the worker but how do you manage this without messing up the pay scales and public finances?
