  1. As always when it comes to the topic of euthanasia, it’s something that foreigners care a lot more about than what we do here.

  2. “Blink of an eye” is wrong, but it’s apparently as pleasant a way to go as any. You quickly lose consciousness due to lack of oxygen, but there’s no panic, as long as the CO2 isn’t allowed to build up. However, irreversible death takes several minutes.

  3. As someone else has already said, we don’t really talk about this much here. There was this ongoing thing a while back where one of the two major organizations, I can’t remember if it was Dignitas or Exit, was using a house in a residential area and some people didn’t like their kids watching them carrying caskets out of the place several times a day, but that’s the only time I remember any of this being controversial in Switzerland. I also don’t understand why it should be. Unless your religion tells you otherwise, why shouldn’t people be allowed to die when they want to?
