  1. The scene of a bizarre shootout in April 1921, in a pub between three off-duty RIC men and the ADRIC (Tans), who shot up the place with a Lewis gun (light machine gun). The shoot-out was witnessed by a Dr Cripps, who told his brother-in-law, Lord Parmoor, who stated what had happened in the House of Lords. It made the UK government realise the ADRIC were out of control.
