  1. >LONDON, Sept 5 (Reuters) – The euro zone is almost certainly entering a recession, with surveys on Monday showing a deepening cost of living crisis and a gloomy outlook that is keeping consumers wary of spending. Services activity in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, contracted for a second month running in August as domestic demand came under pressure from soaring inflation and faltering confidence, earlier figures showed. The Italian services industry returned to modest growth but in Spain activity expanded at the slowest rate since January, with companies concerned inflation would weigh on their profits and on customers’ demand.

  2. Says who! They tell us like we have to automatically accept it. Say enough is enough, get out on the street, refuse to pay your bills. Are the energy providers or our leaders facing a crisis ? If the answer is no then this is just another scam being played on the majority. Time to draw lines in the sand. Our representitives everywhere now represent corporations, the banking industry and the war industry before they represent the people, that should be abundantly clear to everyone of us by now. They have broken their side of the deal long ago, and instead now gaslight us and use dirty tricks to keep us all in line. Time for the people to break their side of the deal. We all have a very limited time on this rock and paradise is being stolen from the majority to the benefit of the minority. How much shit are you prepared to eat!

  3. Everyone in here still supports sanctions against Russia even though the only thing they accomplish is to fuck over workers and the poor.

Stop complaining about the cost of living if you support the sanctions.

  4. >gloomy outlook that is keeping consumers wary of spending

But fiscal hawks cried that Covid stimulus caused the inflation, now citizens are also responsible for the recession? Fantastic.

  5. Putin will bankrupt Europe before he runs out of oil money.
India, Brazil, china have made oil deals with Putin.
Are we shooting ourselves in the foot for nothing ?

  6. scrap the system that prices electricity.
decouple the cost of electricity from gas and set the price on the border of grid zones instead of across the grids.

its not fair for a nation like Sweden who exports to pay the same as germans, Danes etc.

  7. I don’t understand the freakout in this comment section, did people seriously think we’d escape recession? The US has been in one for months now, it was only a matter of time. This is what happens when a war breaks out on your doorstep, it sucks but we’ll get over it.
