CEO Pay Has Grown 90 Times Faster than Typical Worker Pay Since 1978, workers have been scammed for the last 40 years (i.e. co incidentally when tax rates on the rich were dropped in the UK and US, and unions were hamstrung.)
this is literally not even what’s said in the article.
Lynch said
“We need a summer of solidarity, and a spring of solidarity if it needs to go through next year. The CWU, Unite, GMB, RMT and the others, we have to call on the entire movement […] to come into this action, to get members motivated and call them to the flag and vote yes for a wave of industrial action across the UK and internationally if that is what it takes, because we need to redress the balance in society. ”
I know its the Telegraph and they lean very right, but I’m putting it here for people to see. He didn’t call for strikes until spring, he said they’ll do this as long as they need to, and that they won’t give up, not just a blanket strike action attempt for an arbitrary length of time.
I mean at last someone is saying the quiet bit out loud. A general strike feels inevitable. There are so many professions already on strike with more coming down the tracks. May as well make it official
Why do I get the feeling he’s going to get an unexpected heart attack any day?
He actually thinks we’ll all still be alive by Spring? Love his optimism
Sucks for getting to places but fuck the ceo and shareholders hoarding all the pay from the front line workers who are actually doing something
I think the only thing that will force a redistribution of wealth now, would be to revolt and pillage the hoards ourselves.
Our politicians and billionaires didn’t get rich by playing nice, why should we?
Can we do this but redistribute wealth to workers contributing to our economy
Money is being siphoned off the local economies into shareholders and CEO’s pockets.
General strike 👊🏻
Jesus, and I thought the DM comments section was a bad place. Probably a good thing the telegraph keep that thing behind a paywall
General strike 💪
He’s a man of the people..he has my support 100%
Next Labour PM?
Sounds baller.
I would love to see a long term rail strike. Strike for a month or two and then watch the government sweat
I think the only think anyone can do is collectively say fuck off. Not going to work, not paying any bills or taxes, not lifting a fucking finger until fairness is reinstated into society. We should help each other out with food etc in the interim. Crash the whole system.
We are all enablers currently
Let’s not stop there, let this be the bloody start I say
The problem I have with this is scale.
Say you tax the top 500 CEOs hard.
Let’s say you hit them for £500,000 extra tax a year.
Sounds great and we could all get behind that, except maybe the CEOs but for the purposes of this example, fuck em.
So you raise £250,000,000
Let’s assume the guberment Redistribute the whole amount.
So you are sharing £250 mill through say 25 million people as the lesser earners.
So how do we all want to spend our extra tenner?
The Torygraph obviously pumped this out as a scare piece, maybe underestimating how many people would read the headline and think “FINALLY!”
Force a recession more likely
General strike until we’re allowed a new general election.
This government does not have the support of the people. The new PM will be chosen by a secret membership. This is not democracy.
> Mr Lynch said “the billionaires, the millionaires, the shareholders and the big corporations” are telling working people to cough up for the problems in this society.
Says the man who demanded we trash the economy with Brexit, put 6% on everyone’s food bill and is now demanding other people clean up his mess.
I support this but will the strikes for that long be enough?
Go Mick! We’ve never needed this more than now!
The UK and US are two of the most divided countries in the world in terms of wealth!
You can’t forget trickle down economics. A barrel full of £20 notes put them in a sieve and wait for the money to come through.
It won’t take long.
The Telegraph is making Mick Lynch seem more based by the day.
Unite and mash down the Tories
Hook it to my veins
Truss announcing no plans to help everyone deal with utility price rises of 200%! The people need to rise!
There should be a move to tie worker pay to shareholder pay.
If it quacks…………….
This man should of been PM months ago.
We need a change. Little Rishi, Truss, Bojo all puppets of much larger than yau corporations.
Keep reading bbc news mail online the sun the guardian sky brews basically ever media corp out there works for the same people. But you don’t need me to tell you that, do you?
Baaahhhhhhh 🐑
My brain just couldn’t compute what the headline meant until I read the article. I genuinely thought it meant “air strikes”.
A man the country truly needs.
Rich people are fucking everything and all of us right now. We must hold them to account.
Global strike can’t be beaten
Good. I know a lot of people however won’t understand why they are doing this and have assumed “strikes will only be for a while” and unfortunately go back to their day to day ignorance of how terrible it’s become for a lot of people.
So he admits this is now nothing to do with specific working conditions or grievances and is all to do with achieving his political aims through non democratic means.
>Mick Lynch calls for strikes until spring to force ‘redistribution of wealth’
People strike until spring so have no jobs to return to…
More money for the rich.
i wonder do the top people at the unions get the same as the ones on strike or do they get their over inflated pay packet
General strikes across all industry would bring the government to its knees. It might be enough to get the Tories to the negotiating table but Labour is just so weak that they have an inability to replace the Tories in government. This is the major problem. Had Stramer stood on the picket line with the RMT like a real Labour politician then it might have been possible but he’s simply a Labour In Name Only.
Taxation is good. It is a requirement of a society in order for those on less to receive liveable benefits it needs to come from somewhere. Look at a functioning society like Denmark where taxation is relatively high for high earners, low for low earners and welfare benefits are liveable amounts. Taxation is necessary it just needs to be managed sooooo much better than right now.
Waht we really need a a whole redo of the income tax system, where the taxable allowance is uplifted in line with inflation and high earners get tax fairly.

What’s the likelihood of strikes over Christmas?
