Could anyone help identify where my family is from?

  1. This is a picture of my grandmother’s family from the old country (I live in the United States). They emigrated around 1912, but we’re not sure where they are from anymore. My grandmother says she is Czech/Slovak and they lived in Prague. However, I recently had an ancestry DNA test and it said the strongest area of my ancestry is in South-eastern Poland. I also asked a Polish friend to identify the traditional clothing and she said it was from Lublin. However, some others say it isn’t Polish. Could you help identify them to see if they’re from Slovakia?

  2. The image is pretty blurry but it does look simillar to a traditional clothing my friend from Martin has, though all of theese clothes from the Tatras (both polish and slovak) look almost alike

  3. Skirt on left looks like typical “Zemplín” skirt from east Slovakia but I think it might be somewhere around Tatras looking at others

  4. On a side note, I notice so many Slovak American pictures are filled with blond people, but if you go to Slovakia, almost everyone has dark brown hair. It’s a weird little thing I keep noticing and can’t find an answer to.

  5. So I send this to my friend who’s father is an expert for a slovak folklor and he confirmed this is a kroj (historical dress) from southern Zemplin, more specificaly seems like area under the city of Michalovce
