Add Mary Bousted, Kevin Courtney and Patrick Roach to that list come Autumn.
Now imagine if they had a political party formed around those unions. That neo Liberal centre party which makes up the opposition would be in real trouble wouldn’t it?
Yep, it’s full speed back-to-the-70s.
95% of redditors on here don’t have any recollection of when the Unions ran the country, and brought it to its knees.
Not official, and NOT elected.
Why become a politician with all the grief when you can be a Union leader.
Starmer is content to sit on the sidelines and do nothing, so someone has to do his job for him. We don’t have a left wing party that is truly left wing, only slightly left of centre, that just won’t do anymore. If employees want to stand a chance in the coming years, they need someone who will fight for them and that seems to be the unions these days.
I can just imagine the MP choices on the next election ballot:
– Right wing;
– Conservative
– Left wing;
– People’s front of Judea
– Judean People’s front
– Judean popular people’s front
Powerful Unions*
The figureheads are doing a good job repping members, but only mass organised resistance makes it possible.
…or get ostracised and called a blackleg. Yes, we know your version of democracy!
If there was a political party called “Unions of the People” and it consisted of these fantastic people, I’d vote for them in a heartbeat!
On some instances the union and the tories are not opposition but rather keen allies.
For instance tories and union thought the same about taking the UK out of the EU.
