I swear I saw a headline in this sub saying the exact opposite a few hours ago.
Reading the article 8-9 years before it pays for itself.
Mine pays back in 4 years. My most recent bill was £7
I mean, have you seen the electricity prices?? Also the cost of just being connected to the grid?
The sooner every home can be self sufficient as standard, the better.
Number of solar installation cowboys is about to explode as well.
I had a 3 month wait back in April to get my system installed.
The government will tax using the sunshine 😂
Pretty sure I’d need a house first, fat chance of that in this market, let alone leaving me with 20k left over to spend on solar panels
Sorry, who the fuck can afford to have solar panels fitted?
Solar is for the rich as well though. Us peasants can’t escape the energy cost crisis via solar panels.
I would recommend it. My leccy DD is sitting at £40 a month. AND I’m in credit AND every 3 month I get a £140 back from the supplier thanks to my feed-in tariff. In winter it goes down to about £40 per quarter tho.
Must be nice to be able to afford it.
Does anyone know how to find a legitimate solar panel company?
Landlord won’t argee 🙁
What’s the typical power generated in winter? We pretty much have zero direct sunlight for 3 months.
>The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors suggests a standard solar panel system costs between £9,000 to £11,700, *while Solar Energy UK lists the cost of a “typical” 3.1kWp system for a three-bed house as £3,925.*
The real trick is how to negotiate not only the loan and the construction contract, but the contract with the engineer and the feedback grid.
Opening for a solar panel installation doula.
Yup, sold my car to fund a 5kWp system and cycling to work.
