Paschal Donohoe: Budget will help people facing soaring energy bills

  1. Let me guess. Increased fuel allowance for those on social welfare, nothing for anyone else. Working people will just have to accept their energy bills doubling or tripling

  2. Heard him on RTE this morning, spoken like a true bollicks ~ there’s ”no reassurance on what’s going to happen but bear with us a wee bit longer until we figure” 😂😂

  3. The cost of oil and gas has not increased for suppliers. Yet the price goes up with profits and the government response is passive to say the least. It will get a lot worse before it gets better

  4. yet there will be no price cap and no windfall tax on the companies who are making record profits on the back of these price rises.

  5. “Government had responded with agility and clarity and had acted quickly to help people, they would do the same again during this crisis”

Their understanding and my understanding of quickly are not the same.

  6. One person’s suffering is another person’s dividend!

Watch as all these providers give everyone a big Christmas bonus and celebrate how they’ve robbed us all.

Pats on the back all round at the AGM and shareholders meetings.

  7. I happen to have a wood-burning stove in my fireplace. Do you lads reckon I should stockpile wood now ahead of winter, or do you reckon prices won’t change much for solid fuels?
