> “There was action during the pandemic, so why not now?”
The pandemic threatened actual rich people.
My friends went to an open house for a flat in Camden, there were 27 other people there and they were denied after making an offer £300 a month more than the listed standard rate.
Landlord tried putting my rent up £500/month. Had to find a new place with much more difficulty than I would have ever anticipated. Ended up finding somewhere smaller and further away from where I work at a higher price.
We need to increase the supply of rental properties. Not everyone can or should buy.
“she has called to try for a viewing and been told that the property is already gone, despite it being posted online only minutes earlier”. Had a similar experience in Cardiff, listings removed in less than 24 hours.
