  1. Iiiiiiiiiiin the Red Corner, the Concern Brigade, weighing in at 120 pounds of quivering fury that anyone would stick needles in their darling.

Iiiiiiiiiiin the Blue Corner, anyone who’s had to take time off work due to kids being sent home.

  2. >Separately, the HSE has said that people may be getting several appointments for a Covid-19 booster vaccine from multiple sources, even if they have already been vaccinated.
    >…
    >Yesterday, Taoiseach, Micheál Martin said that last week 180,000 appointments for booster jabs were issued, but that just 93,000 people had attended.

Booster campaign seems messy, but according to the app we’ve given over a million of them, so we’re getting there.

  3. Hope uptake is good, clear that schools are driving cases and vaccinations for teenagers drove down the incidence in that age group considerably

  4. https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/covid-19-vaccines/advice

“WHO’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) has concluded that the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above. Children aged between 12 and 15 who are at high risk may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups for vaccination. Vaccine trials for children are ongoing and WHO will update its recommendations when the evidence or epidemiological situation warrants a change in policy.”

Downvoting a statement by WHO… wow. It’s official you lot have lost it!

  5. I’d love to vaccinate my young lad, but the ex won’t let me, not a chance in hell. The only reason she got the vaccine was because she got a new job and had an early Christmas party and wanted to go. Actually unbelievable.

  6. Honestly, ide rather we directed the vaccine stocks to third world countries at this point. Increasing uptake of the vaccine worldwide will be ten times more effective in decreasing mutation rates than jabbing everyone in the west every year and leaving the developing world to deal with it themselves.

Biden waved his hand at the people begging for generic production rights to even one of the vaccines made by the big three. That alone would solve alot of the problem but sure money and all that…

  7. I’m not anti vax. I am vaccinated, wife too, I advise people to get vaccinated etc. I won’t be vaccinating my 5 year old for at least 3 or 4 years. The reason is **no one in the world knows for certain there aren’t any long term side effects**. I know the chance of side effects are probably really small but out of abundance of caution I won’t take that risk for my very young child. If she had underlying condition or vulnerability I may take that risk but right now I wont. She does have all the other standard vaccines for children but these have years of usage history behind them. /me not a tinfoil hatter.

  8. It’s time to end this bastard once and for all. Your either on the train or your not and stalling everyone else at the station.

Horse it in and let’s move on from this nightmare.

  9. The pro vaccine down vote brigade seem to be shouting louder than the anti vax brigade in this thread. I think in future I will keep the medical decisions I make for my own children private.

  10. Why? Children have been at risk of getting and spreading covid the whole time and have not had any significant negative effect on themselves or the health system. Given the actual stats on hospitalisations with COVID.The government are essentially choosing the health of older adults with underlying health conditions over children with this. You small group of people down voting peoples genuine skeptism about this should really think carefully about what you are doing.

  11. If kids are driving cases along with the unvaccinated, then why are they closing night clubs and putting new restrictions on pubs when these are places that kids and unvaccinated aren’t allowed into
