Is this a 1979 Ford Escort? If so, you may be in luck with a motor club or rally organisation. They were/are extensively rallied and there are a few motor clubs in Ireland with special classes for them. I’d recommend doing some Googling and give them a call, they can probably give you the latest insurance on them. If you can’t find one, give me a DM and I can refer you to someone who may know.
On a side topic, check it’s value. Vintage Escorts, and certain types/years, are worth a serious chunk of change if they are in good condition.
