Some of the most intricate, well-engineered works of art come together in this small village of Zundert which attracts well over 100,000 people completely filling up the city.
The artwork is fully covered in locally grown flowers and is also a UNESCO recognized world heritage tradition.
The Netherlands continues to amaze me!

Here is a list of Corso’s that are upcoming. Of these I am only familiar with the one next sunday in Lichtenvoorde, it should be streamed online as well so if you need another fix… Virus C(orso) is active again this year and I’m feeling it.

Thank you for mentioning our event, OP! It always amazes me that our parade is better known abroad than in the Netherlands itself, but it is indeed the largest parade of its kind in the world (since the Rose Parade in Pasadena is a sponsored float instead of being build by volunteers).

Both the Netherlands and Belgium have a rich culture when it comes to flowerparades, unfortunately most people only know Bloemencorso van de Bollenstreek which is just decorated Mecedeses with waving beauty queens instead of the artistic parades taking place in Zundert, Lichtenvoorde, Valkenswaard, Sint Jansklooster, Vollenhove and Loenhout (BE).
In 2019 my friend took us around to the construction barns the night before. At one they invited us to sit down and help prepare the flowers. It was a great experience.

It’s a yearly event on the first sunday of september, the wagons stay on their final stop (veiling terrein) for one day afterwards (which was today), after which they are destroyed. So at least it’s truly limited time only. 😛
Edit: I suppose this is too late for the thread, but oh well.
Glad you had a great time! I live in Zundert and this is the event of the year. Nothing compares to it.
