Read your news and am now questioning your conscription plans from the north (the land you call by the name of one of its ancient counties) – what do you think about the conscription revamp still being mandatory exclusively for men?

Over here, I couldn’t imagine this being let slide like this – yes, it’s mandatory for only men here, too, but our system is set so from the far past – more and more women are volunteering every year and if there were a vote, we’d probably have it mandatory for everyone, for the sake of equality.

  1. It shouldn’t be mandatory, unless the state begins massively expanding healthcare and other welfare benefits. Why die for a state that doesn’t properly help you stay alive?

  2. To keep things fair it should be for both, but I’m voting only for men because I don’t want my daughter to get conscripted.

  3. Es neizprotu to fascināciju un gribēšanu sievietes dabūt obligātajā dienastā. Tas ir “ja man jācieš, kapēc viņām nav”? Ja tā, tad diezgan shortsighted viedoklis, jo, ja vatņiki nāk, labāk tranšejā blakus gribi 55kg smagu sievieti, vai čali, ja pilns ekipējums sver, teiksim, 25kg, + bruņu plāksnes 10kg un stroķis +10kg, rupji rēķinot?
