  2. Seems like its not just germany where the media likes to make a drama out of the fact that someone who pays taxes benefits more from a tax reduction than someone who doesnt, while ignoring that in the end its still all being funded by the person with the high tax burden.

If the article claims that the tax cut offers people with a high income 4000uk€ in savings then either its a massive cut (which they would have probably mentioned) or they are now using some absurdly high income for their comparism.

In germany there was also a media campaign against the suggestion to slightly adjust out tax brackets for inflation (since every new € you earn is taxed more you pay more in taxes even if your wage increase is below inflation) and their example to show the “injustice” of the suggestion was that a single earning 600.000€ a year benefits a few hundred € more than a double income family that earn less than minimum wage, while ignoring that the guy earning 600.000€ pays like 300.000€ in taxes and the family in their example barely paid any.

  3. They want back their winnings from betting on her. Simple as that.

Also, it’s fucking hilarious she started as a Lib Dem and is now leading the country as a Tory Prime Minister. She was anti Brexit until it happened, and then she decided she was all for it and to get it done. She’d sell her fucking soul if she thought more people would like her after she did the deed. She is a vacuous hack with the integrity of a moist sandcastle.

  4. It’s not necessarily the wealthiest, it’s just that the unemployed don’t really benefit from a tax break…

  5. The headline is not helpful. More accurate would be, “It’s fair and better for the economy that those who pay the most taxes would have the largest tax cuts — Truss.”

If you cut everyone’s taxes by 10%, then those who pay the most taxes will have the biggest tax cuts. The deadline implies that the government should redistribute money upward because that would be ethically preferred.

  6. Get your pitchforks back in, it is a pure click bait title and does not represent what she said.

  7. Following UK politics is just depressing, though I bet it makes good entertainment for people who aren’t from here.
